About CISSP Resource Center
An independent informational resource covering the CISSP and how it compares to other major cybersecurity credentials. No training sales, no affiliate steering, no certification body in our ear.
§ 01What this site is
CISSP Resource Center is an independent informational resource covering the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification — and how it compares to other major credentials in cybersecurity, IT audit, project management, and risk management.
We do not provide training. We do not sell exams. We do not represent ISC2 or any other certification body. We exist to provide accurate, comparative information for security professionals making certification decisions.
§ 02Who this site is for
The CISSP is a senior-level credential, but the decision space surrounding it spans the full career arc — from candidates considering their first certification through experienced practitioners weighing the CISSP against alternatives like the CISM, CCISO, or AAISM. This site is built for:
- Mid-career security practitioners deciding which credential to pursue first
- Experienced practitioners comparing the CISSP against specialized alternatives (CCSP, CCISO, AAIA, AAISM)
- IT professionals and adjacent specialists weighing a transition into security
- Hiring managers and HR teams evaluating credentials for posted roles
- Anyone trying to understand the cybersecurity certification landscape without sales pressure
§ 03What we cover
Our content focuses on the questions practitioners actually ask before, during, and after pursuing the CISSP:
- The CISSP exam, domains, requirements, costs, and maintenance
- Side-by-side comparisons of the CISSP against 16 other major certifications
- News and analysis: ISC2 announcements, exam updates, salary and workforce data
- Reference content on adjacent topics that affect certification decisions
§ 04Our approach
We aim to be:
- Accurate. Every factual claim — exam fees, requirements, dates, policies — is checked against issuer documentation or named primary sources.
- Neutral. We describe credentials as they are, including where competitors of the CISSP make legitimately strong cases. The CISSP is the gold standard senior security credential — but the right credential for any specific person depends on their role, career stage, and goals.
- Current. Exam fees, requirements, and policies are reviewed at least annually, with material changes updated within 30 days of issuer announcement.
- Transparent. Our editorial policy, sources, and corrections process are public and detailed.
